This Year's Model Updates:

In an attempt to revive Monte Carlo's performance image, Chevrolet adds a supercharged SS version for 2004. The LS gets new 17-inch aluminum wheels, and there are a couple new appearance packages, Sport and Winner's Circle, available on the LS and non-supercharged SS.

Pros:
  • Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong acceleration with supercharged V6.
Cons:
  • Mediocre performance on non-supercharged models, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

I love this car! Rides smooth, very reliable. Comfortable for all riders( yes i have rode in the back) Plenty of space for luggage and other stuff. Used this car for myself and two friends to go to a nascar race, Very comfortable and roomy. Nice car for someone who want the sports look and room for the family!

  • Excellence = Monte Carlo Supercharger - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

A striking car that get 2nd glances and positive comments from both sexes and all ages. Reasons for choosing this car ... I was drawn to the gorgeously designed 2004 Supercharger engine and body, no other car in its class had as many useful features or as much style. No other make of car this size offered the design features this car has ... absolutely beautiful.

  • Would buy again - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

I bought this car used at 43K miles and did not know the previous owner. There are some issues on this car that have been unusual failures. The AC pulley bearing went bad, the serpentine belt tensioner went bad. The wheel bearings on the front went bad and the heater core went out all before 60K. Buying used, I cannot tell how the previous owner treated it so I chalk it up to previous use. It gets great gas mileage and rides very nice.

  • Engine light delayed and cost me a new engine - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
    By -

I was happy with my 2004 Monte Carlo. The back seat is a real pain getting in and out of though. My big complaint is I have 161K miles on it. Always maintained on schedule. Suddenly it started acting up and I made an appointment for my mechanics to check it out. A few days before the appointment the engine light went on and I took it in immediately! Well..engine light should have gone on several days prior when it was acting up. It did not! Now it needs a new engine! The engine light was lazy and it is costing me. This has ruined my belief in American made cars!

  • My second monte - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
    By -

My first Monte was a 98 LS. I put 130,000 city miles on her before trading. In that time I went thru 4 sets of tires, 1 battery and 1 alternator. It was good enough to mak me trade for another Monte. I hope my luck holds out with this one. Great car so far ;)

I find the comfort in my Monte Carlo a littl less than satisfactory, but the drive is smooth and can be quite fun on an open road. The exterior is also very atractive and origional compared to past models.

  • My Most Favorite Car! - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
    By -

We have enjoyed our car very much. It handles well & we love driving it. We get a lot of compliments! The quality is not so great. Weve had this car a little over 2 years, and several things have not held up. We did prefer mag wheels, but did not have that choice.

  • 2004 Intimidator - 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
    By -

I have a 2004 Monte Carlo Supercharged SS Intimidator Edition. It is car 2,909 of 4,000. It is a great car and has every available option. Its original price when new was over $33,000. Very nice, comfortable car, and it is sure to be a collector car in years to come. It has plenty of power, but the fuel economy could be better.
